Ed Powell District Governorfor 2011-2012 |

Ed Powell is a resident of Weirton. He graduated from Weir High School, attended WVU and received Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Ed worked at Weirton Steel for 37 years leaving there in 2001. He served as President of Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce for over two and one-half years. In 2004, he began working for the State of West Virginia as a Business Analyst and Coach in the Small Business Development Center. He has always been active in the community; serving on the Board of Directors for The Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau and as President, Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Weirton Heights. He first joined Rotary in 1993 and is a Multiple PHF and Sustaining Member. Ed served on Weirton City Council for six years. He has also worked as adjunct faculty at Franciscan University of Steubenville and West Virginia Northern Community College. He has served as Assistant Governor for Area I and active in many Rotary projects and he has attended District and International Conferences and Rotary Leadership Institute training. Married over 47 years to his wife Hazel; they had three children and currently have seven grandchildren. His hobbies include golf, fishing and watching their grandchildren play sports. Both Ed and Hazel are WVU Mountaineers and Pittsburg Steelers football fans. | |

Greg Smith District GovernorElect for 2012-2013 |

Greg Smith retired, with the rank of Lt Colonel, from the United States Air Force with 22 years of service and has served as the Director of Marketing and Public Affairs for Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital for the past thirteen years. He is also the owner of two companies B&G LLC an advertising and Real estate firm and G&B Farms an agriculture and land development agency.
He is a Past President of the Parkersburg Rotary, a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, ADG for Area III for the second year and District Governor Nominee for District 7530. Greg also serves on several local and state boards and is very active in community activities. Educationally Greg has a BA in Psychology from Southern Utah State University, a MBA from Central Michigan University and a MS in Integrated Marketing and Communications from West Virginia University. He is also an in-residence graduate of numerous national and international senior management schools. Greg Smith has been recognized nationally for his work in Public Relations and is also the recipient of numerous military decorations to include the Airman’s Medal, the highest peacetime military decoration for heroism. He resides in Williamstown, is married to the former Bretta Balmer from Bluffton Ohio and they have two boys, Kyle and Kaleb and two Grandchildren Eli and Kayla. | |

JR Wolfe District GovernorNominee for 2013-2014 |

JR and Cheryl Wolfe live on a
mountain farm in West Virginia. They have two sons. Eric is married and
works in the information technology business. Kurtis attends West Virginia
University where he studies engineering. Cheryl and JR both work for the
United States Department of Agriculture.
Cheryl works in the area of rural development and strives to create
employment opportunities in rural areas of WV.
JR works in resource conservation assisting farmers to solve
environmental problems associated with agricultural production.
Cheryl enjoys gardening and local
history. She is a member of the
Preston County Historical Society and assisted with the publishing of the
“Preston County History”.
JR is Past President of the
Morgantown North Rotary Club which he joined in January, 2002.
He also serves as youth exchange officer for his club and he and
Cheryl have hosted two exchange students, Benny from Germany, and Thomas
from France.
JR is a member of the Paul Harris
Society and a Foundation Benefactor.
Cheryl and JR are Paul Harris Fellows and Bequest Society members.
JR traveled to Japan as a GSE
team member in October 2001and to the Philippines as team leader in 2004.
He has made five trips to Guatemala to work in rural villages on
water quality and housing projects.
JR and Cheryl traveled with a team to India for a Polio National
Immunization Day in February 2010. | |
