Ranjit K. Majumder District Governor for 2010-2011 |

Ranjit was born in Calcutta, India. DG Rangit graduated with Bachelors of Science from the University of Calcutta with honors in Psychology and moved to United States for further education where he earned Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. He has specialized in the area of Neuropsychology and he is a licensed psychologist. He worked at the West Virginia University for over 32 years as Professor of Rehabilitation Psychology and Director of West Virginia Research and Training Center where he conducted research, teaching, and service in consonant with Land Grant University mission. He has retired from the university as Emeritus Professor and Director of International Center for Disability Information. Ranjit served as President of West Virginia Mental Health Association, President of Arts Monongahela, Vice President of National Research and Training Center Association and several other Civic and Service Agency Boards of Directors. Ranjit joined Rotary in 1985 and served as President of Rotary Club of Morgantown during 1994-95 at which time the club celebrated Diamond Jubilee. He has served as chair of the Health, Hunger, and Humanity committee and conducted international projects between District 7530 and District 4060. Ranjit was closely involved in the Rotary Youth Exchange program and reintroduced the Short Term youth exchange program in the district. In recent years Ranjit organized and promoted Vocational Service program in the District. Ranjit has attended several District and International Conferences and Leadership training. Ranjit and his wife Indira are both Paul Harris Fellows. | |

Ed Powell District Governor Elect for 2011-2012 |

Born in Doddridge County, West Virginia, Ed Powell is a resident of Weirton. He graduated from
Weir High School, attended WVU and received Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees in Business
Administration from University of Steubenville. Ed worked at Weirton Steel for 37 years leaving there in 2001.
He served as President of Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce for over two and one-half years. In 2004, he began working for the State of West Virginia as a Business Analyst in the Small Business Development Center. He has always been active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for The Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau and as President, Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Weirton Heights. He first joined Rotary in 1993. Ed served on Weirton City Council for six years. He has also worked as adjunct faculty at Franciscan University of Steubenville and West Virginia Northern Community College. He has been an Assistant Governor for Area I. Married over 44 years to his wife Hazel, they had three children and currently have seven grandchildren. His hobbies include golf, fishing and watching their grandchildren play sports. Both Ed and Hazel are Mountaineer and Pittsburgh Steelers football fans. | |

Greg Smith District Governor Nominee for 2012-2013 |

Greg Smith retired, with the rank of Lt Colonel, from the United States Air Force with 22 years of service and has served as the Director of Marketing and Public Affairs for Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital for the past thirteen years. He is also the owner of two companies B&G LLC an advertising and Real estate firm and G&B Farms an agriculture and land development agency.
He is a Past President of the Parkersburg Rotary, a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, ADG for Area III for the second year and District Governor Nominee for District 7530. Greg also serves on several local and state boards and is very active in community activities. Educationally Greg has a BA in Psychology from Southern Utah State University, a MBA from Central Michigan University and a MS in Integrated Marketing and Communications from West Virginia University. He is also an in-residence graduate of numerous national and international senior management schools. Greg Smith has been recognized nationally for his work in Public Relations and is also the recipient of numerous military decorations to include the Airman’s Medal, the highest peacetime military decoration for heroism. He resides in Williamstown, is married to the former Bretta Balmer from Bluffton Ohio and they have two boys, Kyle and Kaleb and two Grandchildren Eli and Kayla. | |
